I'd love to know Aunt Lydia's back story. They seem to be filling her out - she's no longer merely a sadistic bitch.

I think the writers are giving us Stockholm Syndrome..... or they are trying to show some sort of evolution of some of the evil characters.
I really don’t care for how Serena is portrayed. The constant flip flopping between sadistic and compassionate is getting a bit tiring. At least she is consistent that it’s all primarily about herself in the end

What was the point of the Eden character? To give Nick a guilt trip about how he treated her?

I think she was to show that even though she was born and raised in Gilead and never knew any other kind of life, she still ultimately acted like any other girl her age. It's going to be somewhat of a wake up call for Serena at least because now she has a daughter who she planned to raise the same way. I think her love for Holly/Nicole will ultimately outweigh her determination to be a good Gilead woman and will somehow factor in to how the baby is gotten to Canada and freedom.

I am completely hooked. I think the second season may be even better than the first.

Gah...that season finale!! After the last couple of episodes being kinda slow, this one was packed with action! I understand why June did what she did at the end, but FUCK...I was yelling at her to not do that.

I was a big fan of the book and wondered where they were going to go with the story. It's very good TV. The character development is amazing.

The scene with June and Serena had me bawling.
How are they going to explain where the baby went that wouldn't end with June getting hung?

Oh, and how did Eden read the bible or write in it? I thought women weren't allowed to do either and since Eden grew up there, she never would have learned how to read or write to begin with.

Since Hannah is still a child, it would be my guess that Eden had learned to read prior to Gilead, and had hid her bible on her parents farm. Loved that they ended the season with "Burning Down the House"
