My father-in-law is 89, but I don't think of him as elderly - he maintains his house, walks at least 3 miles a day, sharp as a tack. My father is 78 and has Parkinson's, and he is elderly and frail to me. My parents have untreated mental issues for sure, I think they both have depression, my mother is also agoraphobic. They have both been unhappy most of my life - I remember good times so keenly because they were few and far between!
