NicciKatie convinced me that I won't be making yogurt As I was writing it out, I knew that may happen! I swear it is FAR less complicated that it sounds, LMAO!

My dad is visiting and we were just at the grocery store and there was a magazine called “Instant Pot Recipes” and he thought it was for weed 😂

Mine has not been opened either. Maybe one day I will feel motivated to try it. I don't see it happening though!

This is ours www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FLYWNYQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I got it for $69.99 in July 2016 I'm pretty sure because someone posted about it here and our rice cooker had died recently so we opted for this as a replacement. I think it's a million times better than a slow cooker, mainly because we tend to not think ahead enough to use the slow cooker. It's awesome to "boil" 1-1/2 dozen eggs at the same time and for them to always comes out perfectly. I have not tried yogurt yet. Most recently I started adapting some of my old freezer cooking recipes for the IP and having some successes. I'll try to remember to post them sometime.

I’m starting to become interested in one of these. I like the slow cooker okay, sometimes, but I often fail at planning ahead enough.
I just learned that the Instant pot was invented by an engineer who used to work for Canada’s biggest tech firm, which was big news when it crashed and burned years ago.

step 4- mail it to a poor Oklahoma teacher who just paid for a wedding and is broke as a joke. LOL
Seriously, I have been looking at them the last few days since it seems that every.single.one of my FB friends got one for Christmas, and are talking about how much they love it. There are a couple of days a week I teach night school, and getting dinner made on those nights is difficult, in addition to the extracurriculars my kiddo has. I *like* to cook, and I like cooking for my family. I feel badly on nights I can't even though they don't really care.

I have a bunch of friends on my FB who got them for Christmas and I know it will end up being relegated to the back of a cabinet. Along with the my crockpots. It's just me and DH and the amount of food I would have to buy and put in the pot would be too much. I can do one day of leftovers and that's about it.

I'm making dust with mine! Same I had to throw out a pork roast because the Instant Pot turned itself off hours before it was done cooking. Going back to my old crock pot and using the instant pot for rice.

Going back to my old crock pot and using the instant pot for rice. I’m not sure I understand what happened? The Instant Pot turns to “keep warm” after pressure has been released. It keeps the food at a safe temp until you’re ready to serve it. It never shuts off until you manually shut it off.

It didn't cook the roast. The roast was warm but raw.

DD's husband won an Instant Pot in a draw at work for xmas. So far she's pretty happy with it. She's made a split pea soup (very quickly) that was excellent, chicken shwarma, oatmeal and a couple of other things. I think they'll get a lot of use out of it. And I can borrow it if I want to try it.

I gave DH an instant Pot for Christmas. He does all the cooking now. I don’t get home until after 7pm. He tried a pork tenderloin tonight and it came out great. He hasn’t tried anything else yet.

I've done hard boiled eggs-excellent, a chicken cacciatore which was meh but it was done fast. It may have been the recipe. I'm trying pork carnitas tonight.

The IP fad is now extending to my circle of IRL friends and I'm getting tagged in discussions on whether or not to purchase. (rofl)
Meanwhile, my Christmas gift was an Anova sous vide circulator. (atrb_partsz)

(atrb_partsz) Now THAT gets used. My DH has taken over cooking, too, and man that sous vide gets a lot of use.

DD1 bought one and has been posting pictures of her creations. This can only mean that DW will want one soon.
