I've decided to shoot for reading at least 6 classics & 6 non-fiction books this year, trying to balance out my fluff, lol!

I'm a firm believer in fluff! However I read a lot of non-fiction and the "genres" within non-fiction are as varied as in fiction so you can find stuff as light or as heavy as you want....classics scare me

I've actually read most of those . I always say that classics scare me but several years ago dh kept bringing me home classics like Dracula and Frankenstein. And I enjoyed most of them - but I guess when I think of classics I'm always thinking of the ones I haven't read - like Dickens, Austen, Bronte, etc. I should probably stop saying I don't like classics .

Are you making any? I'll probably do 60 again - even though I read 72 this year (although despite 9 more books I read less pages). Last year I also did this - but this year's challenge is the exact same as last year's so I'll probably take a year off. You've inspired me, I've started this challenge and am on book 2. I need someone to recommend a book for # 15 - any suggestions?

I'll try pretty much anything. Some of my favorites are Stephen King, Ann Rule, James Patterson, Diana Gabaldon, Jonathan Kellerman, Kathy Reichs. I really love crime books - especially the forensic stuff, also mysteries, young adult stuff, also will happily read fluff sometimes. I really love reading a series so when the book ends I can start the next one and continue spending time with the people I've gotten to know ETA: I'm a super fast reader so I'm not intimidated by a long series or a huge book if it grabs my interest.

Did you ever see the cheesy 80's miniseries of The Sea Will Tell? I loved it...I think you would too.
One of the most interesting forensics novel I read this year was "Winter's Journey" Fictional but based on a true event. Series wise I really liked "Life As We Knew It"

I've been thinking that I really love caper movies, but I am not sure I've ever read a caper book. Think Thomas Crowne Affair or Oceans' 11. Anyone have any books along those lines to recommend?
