Do I need Smart Plugs? I have a "special offer" for Amazon Smartplugs for $5 (it says the regular price is twenty-something, which is probably a sam, but I know they are usually more than $5). How do people use these? Is it just so I can tell Alexa to turn on the light so I don't have to get my ass off the sofa? I LOVE my smart plugs....Alexa turn off the lights, Alexa turn on fan, Alexa turn on mood lights (twinkle lights I have above my bed)

Did you guys see that some really expensive camera equipment was discounted to $95 as a glitch? Like a $13,000 lens . Amazon is honouring it! Apparently some people price matched at Best Buy and Walmart too

I wanted to buy a new knife set, but was then paralyzed by choice. So I bought nothing.
There's probably a ton of college kids who have been suckered into selling Cutco knives as a summer job. You'll make their day

So I got my air fryer. Not sure if I am loving it. Not sure if I will use it very much. If I do t send it back this week, I will probably just end up giving it to my daughter or son

Nothing I bought was on sale, but the shipping dates seem weird. Like, the cat food won’t arrive until Friday, but my serger - which is my birthday present - is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I get this sometimes. Most of the stuff comes from the distribution centre in Mississauga and I can get same day delivery if I order at the right time of day - but if the stuff is from another warehouse it takes longer. I got 2 day delivery of something that I didn't realize they actually had to fly in from the US We have at least three distribution centres within five km of our house 😄 Two of them are actually in Brampton - there’s a massive Amazon complex at Winston Churchill and Steeles, on the Brampton side.

I didn't buy anything. I would like an air fryer but I suspect I will use it as often as I use my InstaPot

No, it's also so you can tell Google or Siri to turn off the lights. Or if you have your smartphone handy, you can use the App when you're too lazy to move or talk.
One of things I like about my smart plugs and switches, is that I can automate schedules for when the lights come on or off. I do this on my front porch lights. This is helpful when we're away from home for a few days and the house looks "lived in". Also, I don't have to walk into a dark house. I can automate turning on lights when I get close to home.
Because you already your Xmas shopping, am I right?

The cats are happy to have cat food.
I took my serger out of the box. I read the directions. I watched two hours of a crafty class. I’m still afraid to actually plug it in.

Amazon had an amazing deal on some off brand Alexa enabled smart plugs today. Glad I didn't buy on Prime Day... Plug it in and have fun. 👍 If you're worried, but a surge protector.

Just for funsies, I tried to link my Eufy robo-vac to Alexa. It certainly isn't necessary. Hitting one button on the remote isn't much harder than telling Alexa to start the vacuuming. But I was curious about the process.
I couldn't make it work, though that could be our tremendously fucked-up wifi. Not sure what is wrong. We had an outage (area-wide) and when service came backl our still didn't work. Cable lady came out and we here nearly two hours, and finally put on some filter that made it kind of work, but caused it to be super slow and sometimes cycle on and off. Anyway, I got to the part where I tried to link the Eufy app to my device. There was supposed to be a wifi network called "Eufy vac" or something like that, but there wasn't. I tried a few things and gave up.
I guess my home will continue to be as dumb as me!
