Odd question, but how much would you pay for a quart of maple syrup that had been harvested at a local farm and cooked down in a kettle over a wood fire?
(I am trying to convince my neighbor to raise his prices. ☺️)

I used to pay $22 for a small jug of it at Costco. I'd probably pay more for local stuff.

I don’t know how much a quart is, but we pay around $16 or $17 for a 1L bottle from a sugar bush near the town where my inlaws live.

I get local maple syrup during the summer when I’m in the US and I think I pay around $20-25 for a half-gallon.

I get it from a local farm and pay around $20 for a larger container than two people need. But it lasts forever!

Have you asked puppylove what she charges? I charge $10 for 10 oz. Making maple syrup is a lot of work!

How many fucking pancakes do you all make?!?! 😂 (Can’t remember the last time I used maple syrup) WE don't make pancakes, but we do eat either French Toast or toaster waffles every Saturday with bacon, and pour on the syrup!

I know some people use it as a sweetener in their cooking & baking. It’s not just for pancakes & waffles.

Maple syrup and honey are the only sweeteners we use. We are not big sweet people, so we only use them sparingly. We make it all here on our farm. I promise you that you have never tasted better. The maple syrup is a taste combo of vanilla/caramel/butterscotch. Soooo delicious.

I have a rib recipe that uses maple syrup and curry powder. The remnants in the pan are to die for.

I have an oatmeal bread recipe that I use maple syrup in. I keep a small bottle in the fridge for cooking mainly. We use (gasp) store bought fake syrup on pancakes.
