I can't make it through more than a couple pages of anything. I'm hunting for something light and fluffy but that captures my attention. I haven't found the right thing yet.

So, not light and fluffy but long and engrossing. Lonesome Dove. It's long, like 1,000 pages, and I read it years ago when I wanted something to just get lost in. I normally don't even like Westerns but this book drew me in like not many others. It's been so long I might just reread it!

I'm reading The Vagina Bible by Jen Gunter. I was on the wait list for a long time for this one, so even tho I'd rather be reading something light and funny, I have to finish this first.

I watched Unorthodox too. It was very good. Did you watch the after film on how it was made? Also interesting

I lost interest in the subject long ago. Forty-five years in Israel will do that. But I donated for years to a fund helping young people leave that cult.

I can't make it through more than a couple pages of anything. I'm hunting for something light and fluffy but that captures my attention. I haven't found the right thing yet. I'm also struggling right now. I finally started listening to audio books while I work which has helped with the work frustrations. It will never become my primary mode of consuming books but it's been helping.
Have you read the Illuminae Files by Jay Kristoff and Aimee Kaufmann? It's YA sci-fi and I highly recommend it. It's like no other book I've read before - it doesn't work as an ebook though you pretty much have to read the paper book. It's a "file" about an incident and so it's made up of hacked emails, video analysis, diary entries, etc. It's super unique but really engaging and the really cool thing is that it's easy to pick up and put down because each little section is only a few pages long. The first one is Illuminae.
I've read a bunch of stuff since I last posted and I don't remember all of it. The standouts were Gemina (the 2nd Illuminae Files), Four Dead Queens which is like a YA fantasy mystery (stand alone), and House of Salt and Sorrows which is YA ghost story/fairytale retelling. That last one was an audiobook - I thoroughly enjoyed it so far but I wondered if I'd have liked the book if much if I had read it.
I need to start my Hugo reading soon because the nominees just got announced and I'm a member this year

I am not sure I've read anything recommended by you that I haven't loved. I may check this out. Thanks for the warning about not doing it as an ebook!

I tried it as an ebook a few years ago and it was unreadable but I liked the concept so I picked it up at Book Outlet Boxing Day sale. Apparently the audio book is quite good. It's not great literature or anything - just exciting space stuff

The Unhoneymooners might be just right! It was cute (and def light and fluffly!). Currently listening to The Bookish Life of Nina Hill (hard to get through w/o my commute!) and reading the Witch Elm by Tana French. I'm enjoying them both - murder mystery isn't really my genre, so I'm a total noob and have no idea "who done it!" Recently read Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng for a new online book club. It was pretty good - a fun, fast read, but not great literature or anything.

FINALLY finished Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I swear, that was one of the longest 215 page books I’ve ever read!!

My quarantine project is War and Peace. I love Tolstoy, but never picked this one up. It's great, but (obviously) long. Also listening to A Tale of Two Cities. So I'm on a bit of classics kick right now.

I've just finished "I Heard You Paint Houses" by Charles Brandt. Its the basis for the moving The Irishman. We're going to watch it soon.
The book was excellent - I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. And now I know who killed Jimmy Hoffa and what happened to his body. Nyah nyah!!
