How was a Christmas Carol? I'm not a Dickens fan but I'm tempted

It was helpful to know the story before reading it, because the language of the time & the writing style. I read an annotated version that was helpful in defining what some things were. I think it gives a bit more insight to Scrooge & contains details that aren’t typically in film versions. I hadn’t read Dickens before, but I think it was worth it, more than just to check it off my list.

I loved loved The Jade Peony. I had time to cram one more book in so I read Out of Nowhere by Rebecca Phillips - it was the novel that got nominated for the Amazon award and I really liked it. Perfect book to finish my reading year with and my Canada150 reading project.

I was so sad to find out that the author of the series I'm reading just died (Sue Grafton). I was almost finished with M is for Malice when I found out. I've read that she didn't have Z finished before she died, and she didn't want a ghost writer to complete it. I've started N is for Noose, but I may start something else before I read what's left of the series now.

I just started Intervention by Robin Cook. I'm a voracious reader, but somehow I had forgotten how much I enjoy his books.
