LinkThoughts? Do you think it will be any good? Or do you think Disney may be attempting to milk a post-menopausal cash cow?

There is a live action Lion King coming soon also. Disney probably wants to reintroduce their old properties to a new generation.

Kids #2 and #3 are 15 years apart and I've bought the Lion King for each of them, along with some other movies. Stores like Walmart still sell it enough that we had to hunt around before we found it in stock. I'm also on Round 2 of some Curious George stuff. :heart Captain Underpants might even be a thing again in 20 years.

I really liked the live action Cinderella, and though I still say nothing will beat the original, I still got a bit teary at the end of the live action Beauty and the abeast.
I don't know as we need a remake of Julie Andrews perfection, but I am willing to give it a shot!

I can see a lot of adults going to Mary Poppins Christopher Robin. I'm always amazed how many adults are into shows marketed for kids. At the last Jungle Book movie, the theatre was easily half adults, several I noticed were sans kids, which I found really odd for an animated movie but it happens all the time. A solo woman sat beside me for Finding Dory and laughed her ass off the entire time. Boss Baby and Trolls were two others. Shit, we took DD to the My Little Pony Movie (gah!) and there were two 20-something couples in front of us on a double date. I've learned that people are not meant to be understood sometimes.

Those movies are marketed towards kids and adults. If you make a “kids” movie enjoyable for adults then parents are more likely to want to take their kids to see it rather than “having to take one for the team” and have to sit through a crappy movie that your kids want to see.
That happened to me with Transformers The Last Knight, man that was garbage

Our base theater showed it for free, and I still felt ripped off. A lot of time I can't get back, lol.
I have *LOVED* all the live action remakes. Some of my favorite memories are of going to the matinees at our base theater (same one referenced above) with my grandparents on the weekends to see the originals. I cried like a baby all through Cinderella.

I have tolerated and even enjoyed a lot of kids shows (clearly) but that one was just painful. Give me Over the Hedge or Ratatouille any day.

Hmm... Isn't 54 years a little too soon for a sequel.

I’m excited for it. But to be fair I’d go watch Lin Manuel Miranda read the phone book 🤷🏼♀️ Mary Poppins is my favorite movie so I’m happy it isn’t a *remake* but a sequel.
Christopher Robin looks like it’s going to make me cry.
