I wish Judy Blume would write a book about Margaret getting hot flashes. Lol.
I'm getting night sweats-waking up in wet sheets. I move to the other side of the bed and an hour later, that's soaked, too. I don't know if it's time to talk to my doctor about it, yet.

If you’re uncomfortable, it’s certainly worth talking about.
I had a super boring menopause, so I’m no help.

I had the hot flashes last winter and no period last winter, and then my period came back. I had it for the entire month of June and the entire month of August, and then every other week I had a light period through most of October, and nothing since. The night hot flashes really disrupted my sleep! Def. talk to your doctor!
If I'm anything like my mother, I expect this process to take several years.

I'm getting a hysterectomy on Wednesday. I was told they'd leave my ovaries if possible. I hope so. I have hot flashes occasionally, but really looking forward to no more bleeding.

I was getting hot flashes and after many years went and spoke to the doctor about them. He put me on premarin and medroxy - best thing I ever did. I felt like I got my old body back almost overnight. As a bonus, my RA symptoms calmed down substantially at the same time. When I mentioned it, he told me he's had a number of patients with arthritis with the same experience. I'm glad he didn't mention it first, as I would have thought "placebo reaction".
I wish I'd done it sooner.

I don't have much confidence in my gp. (She refused to refer me to dermatology when I thought I might have another basal cell carcinoma.)I think I'll get a new gp, first.
