I’m reading The Hunger Games again. I love this series! I loved it too! And I thought they did very well making it into a movie.

I just finished Less by Andrew Sean Greer on audiobook. I really enjoyed it. I wasn't expecting a comedy and found it sweetly poignant. Now listening to Washington Black by Esi Edugyan. Still reading Prisoner of Heaven by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I really liked Washington Black! Her husband was nominated for a Giller Prize this year. He didn't win - but it would have been cool to have two winners in a row who were married to each other . She's won twice now so that must have been a little awkward when he lost

I’m reading The Hunger Games again. I love this series! I suppose you know there's a new one out in 2020? A prequel

I’m reading The Hunger Games again. I love this series! I suppose you know there's a new one out in 2020? A prequel I didn't know that! I loved the first book. By the third, I was super annoyed with Katniss and kind of wanted her to die, though I can't quit recall why. Hopefully the prequel is as good as the first book!

I was annoyed with her because I felt like she was toying with both Gale’s and Peeta’s emotions.

Yes the book takes place well in advance - I think maybe the first Hunger Games? So there will be all new characters. It might even be before the 1st Hunger Games. I'm waiting closer to release date to get excited. I'm sure I'll buy a special box for it though

Now I'm onto Go Set a Watchman, which I have so far not read. I tend to search for and take books out from the library electronically, but I went in the other day and forgot how much I love browsing the stacks. And I stumbled onto this one. Unfortunately my neighbourhood library is 75% French books, so my browsing was limited. I'll have to hit one of the English branches next time. What did you think of it? I'm still trying to figure it out. The only thing I can think of is to show how complicated people can be.

I started it then got distracted by something shiny (my kobo) and never got back to it. I'm going to have to make an effort to finish it.

Really enjoying Jojo Moyes Giver of Stars I listened to the audiobook and I liked it. That led me to The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michelle Richardson. The story is about the blue-skinned people of Kentucky. The main character was part of the Pack Horse Library Project and the racism she faced for being blue. It was an interesting story.

I can’t say I enjoyed it, I kept waiting for some sort of resolution, but it just puttered out. Which I found a tad frustrating.

Is that the book the author never wanted published? Apparently there was controversy about whether she wanted it published or not, but it seems that in her own words she was fine with it. Though some say she wasn't in her right mind when she agreed. Who knows?

I am reading the 6th (last) installment of The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place. Kids and I listened to 5 of the books and then they lost interest! I was so disappointed and then remembered that I can read children's books on my own if I want to!

Lots of fluff reading here. For one of my book clubs, we choose a short book for December that either takes place around Christmas-time or is directly Christmas related. This year we chose The Shepherd, the Angel, and Walter the Christmas Miracle Dog by Dave Barry. I may or may not have snorted a time or two while reading it. A very quick, light, holiday read.

I’m reading Torey Hayden’s latest book, Lost Girl. It’s really interesting to me because the young girl she’s working with in this one has RAD, which my nephew also has.
