We were supposed to be going to dh’s friend’ dd’s wedding on Cape cod this summer. Her dad is trying to talk her into a small Family wedding with a larger reception later.
I was really looking forward to it. I feel bad this is their reality 😞

We don't go out much, so I don't know. We only eat out a handful of times a year and we don't go to bars, maybe a pub for lunch. But i don't like big crowds much anyway. Costco stresses me out! I know I will be far more cautious with washing my hands after I enter and before I eat because I think places will generally slack off on the cleaning, though it would be nice if they didn't. Freakin' shopping carts have never been cleaner...and I like it! I'm sure the plexiglass shields in all the stores will be staying, and I'd be okay with that. I just want to go camping and put a kayak in the lake and eat roasted weenies for a couple of days. I can social distance the shit out of that!

The official thinking here is that it is better for both public health and the economy to suck it up for a longer period of time initially, instead of risking a second peak. So, no one is going anywhere for the time being. Once things open, they are being so cautious that I will just do whatever I am able to do. They aren’t going to turn on a switch and open everything up; it will be gradual and I will just follow the guidance at the time. I seriously hate wearing a mask, so I am not looking forward to that (assuming we will have to). This is definitely a first-world problem, but I am looking forward to travelling again. We normally take several international trips per year and travel is a big part of our lives, so I’m sure we will book a vacation as soon as we are able to. This will be our longest stretch without a trip since my kids were babies. At least we are saving money!
