If there's an event that, normally, you would attend, what precautions would need to be in place for you to consider attending now?
I'm thinking specifically of church services, but if those hold no appeal for you, replace with wedding, funeral, concert, sporting event, or whatever else you would have gone to a year ago.
ETA: If such gatherings are currently prohibited by law where you live, then answer for in the future when the legal restrictions are lifted.

Masks and limiting the capacity of attendees.

Masks for sure. Honestly it’s gonna take a while until I go to a bar or sit down restaurant. I was just discussing with a friend when they will be comfortable getting a haircut...I’m not sure the answer. I just know I’m not ready yet.
DD day program is talking of opening mid May. I’m ready for her to have some routine, but not sure if I think it’s the right thing 😬
I’m open to suggestions!!

Maxmammy, I would ask the program what safety measures will be in place. If they have a good plan for going forward, I would try it.
I'm the last person who should be venturing out- with all my health issues, but I will be in line at the hair salon the minute it opens. That said, I'd be wearing a mask and would expect the salon to have social distancing protocols in place.

What I want is universal health care so employees of bars, restaurants, clubs, etc. can have their health problems handled.
At a minimum, I'd want gloves and masks, possibly a hygienists certificate that the place has been disinfected.
We are about to put out a proposal for an industrial hygienist to assess, develop and implement a plan and provide verification of disinfection before opening our public buildings back up, which we'll be doing before schools do, since our interaction with the public is not as constant and extensive as theirs are. The PD is going to donate 10,000 masks which will be given to people who don't have one.
Personally, I will be wearing masks and gloves for some time, probably through the end of this this year.

Right now I’m trying to figure out when to go back to work. Texas has opened parks, some elective surgery and curbside store pick up. Our county has a moderate amount of corona but hasn’t peaked. I’m due to recertify my leave 5/15. I’d like to go back, but I’m anxious about it

I will not be going to venues like concerts or festivals where there are masses of people for quite some time.
We won't be doing a family vacation this summer either.
I may have to travel for work, and if I do, I will be wearing a mask.

I guess it depends on what the treatment, vaccination, testing, and current outbreak numbers all look like. But assuming they are more or less like they are now, I doubt I would do anything with more than a few close friends, and we would all need to be masked and not in spaces with a lot of other people.
Maur, I read an article yesterday about the risk of Legionnaire's disease in buildings that have been shut down for weeks. Is that possibility something that affects your spaces?

For church...If there weren't so many "why are we quarantined anyway" people in my church I'd feel a lot more comfortable going back. Right now I'm pretty sure a bunch of them would not even wear masks or sit spread apart and that concerns me.
For school...Well, I suppose we could do those hats with yardstick etc. on top like some of the Chinese kindergartens are showing, but I don't see parents buying in to that and frankly it would really distract from the atmosphere we try to create. I'm not sure what the magic solution will be, but I think at a minimum we should have all kids and staff in masks, supply bleach wipes and hand sanitizer in copious amounts, and insist parents actually follow through with the no school unless your child is fever-free without meds for at least 24-hours policy. Many parents have to go to work so they just dose their kids with ibuprofin and send them our way. There would need to be better parental leave policies at other work places to make it safe for schools to resume in-person instruction.

I would like to get antibody testing to see if I have antibodies to it before I start going out in larger groups again. (I think our family may have had it in February but because no one was testing for it here at that time, I don’t know). I might still wear a mask in public to make sure I’m not catching or spreading anything even if I have antibodies. If I don’t have antibodies, I’ll definitely be wearing a mask when I’m out.

If our church started up this sunday we would not have any trouble social distancing during the service. We only typically had 25-30 for most services (I'm in the choir, so I used to count just in case there were more people in the choir than the congregation LOL) Sometimes we were close!
so those people could spread out just fine. Coffee time would be more difficult. We love to visit and chat after church. I think we'd have to skip it for a while. Funny thing though, we've started online services and have more people every week. Last sunday there were over 40 people!

When things open I will do all the things. 🤷♀️. I will go to the bars restaurants I usually go to support them and give them my dollars. I will travel a lot when things open because it makes me happy and it’ll probably be less expensive to do so.

I'm tentatively planning a family vacation with all the kids and grands for next summer at a lake house somewhere in the middle of nowhere.

I'm going to mostly sit this year out. No concerts, bars, baseball games , casinos, etc. I will probably just do small gatherings with friends where we can hang out but maintain some distance.
I haven't canceled our lake house rental in Maine for August. Might still do that.

Antibody testing is very interesting, but they still haven't figured out the range of antibodies that would make one immune. Although I hear they should have better intel on that within the next 6 months. I agree with Sprock - I don't think large group events are happening for us in CA for quite some time (Facebook canceled all events into 2021 and I think most bay area companies/firms will follow suit). Even if they do, I'll probably sit it out. I'm most anxious about the upcoming school year. And selfishly, our planned vacation to Mexico at the end of July. I haven't pulled the plug on that, but it seems unlikely at this point.

I am hoping I will be able to be at my out of state seasonal camp next month. I can self contain so I really want to spend time there. My daughter has a concert in July at the casino, not cancelled yet but I am thinking no. My Spring hockey tickets were cancelled and credited for October, and again I am leery on an enclosed space at this time.

I haven't pulled the plug on that, but it seems unlikely at this point. They haven't even determined that anitbodies make one truly immune or, if they do, for how long. It could be a few years, or a few months. Or not. We have an Airbnb and tickets to a Navy football game in Ireland later in the summer. Tickets were insanely expensive, via Ticketmaster. I'm extremely doubtful the game will happen and I'm a bit worried that because it's tickemaster instead of a direct ticket purchase, I might somehow get screwed. And if the game happens but we don't go (I'm doubtful DH will be allowed to go, even if the vent happens and we wanted to) we are probably even more screwed on those tickets. I doubt there will be much interest in resale. the Airbnb is cancelable until a few days out, minus a fee, so that's not a big concern. We also have Hamilton tickets for July. Again, I doubt we will get even if the event is held. Those *might* be easier to resale, but I have no idea if other people are going to be avoiding events like I likely will be.

There are a couple of sad misses coming up for us. The concertmaster of our city's orchestra is retiring. He did a lot of work with the youth orchestra when my older son was in it, so ds and I have tickets to his farewell concert in June. I think it is not likely to happen, and even if it does it will be in a crowded auditorium so I will have to see what my level of comfort with crowded auditoriums is by then.
The second event is similar. One of the long-time conductors at the youth symphony is retiring at the end of this season. Her farewell concert was supposed to be this weekend, which obviously isn't happening. They are hoping to reschedule it for sometime this summer, but we shall see. It seems a very sad way to end a 30 year career of impacting young people.

Antibody testing is mostly for my own interest to see if that was what we had or not. My life won’t change much either way. Right now, I’m working as a phlebotomist. I have to work whether the province is shut down or not. We wear PPE at work. I don’t see that changing much. I wear a mask when I go out because I don’t want to spread it if I have it & am asymptomatic. I don’t go anywhere except for work & occasionally for groceries. We’ll head out to the farm occasionally (we were just there for a few days) but don’t go out much when we’re there. I seldom went out before all of this happened.
