She has a pheochromocytoma - basically, an adrenal tumor. They have to shut down all her receptors so they can biopsy the tumor without triggering a heart attack. According to the oncologist, she may be the youngest person to ever have one (typically happens to people in 30s-50s). I think in general it's bad to be special or rare in the world of medicine! But she is in good spirits.
We visited Siobhan at the hospital today - they only allow parents to be with children. I held her and she just sobbed for about 8 minutes. We set up a Caringbridge so we can communicate with everyone and we're going to have to do a GoFundMe as well, because Amurica! She's been in the ICU since last Friday, I can only imagine what the bill is going to look like.
She and Ceilidh had a video chat before bed and they were so adorable, giving each other hugs and kisses over the phone and giggling. Ceilidh misses her sister and her parents! It's really heartbreaking. We had a good walk today while she rode her balance bike, and we ran into two little boys who she knows from daycare, so they played a bit. Siobhan and Jason take turns coming home every other day for a shower and some time with Ceilidh.
Jason is not doing well, he has trouble dealing with all the difficult conversations and procedures. We probably won't have more answers until next week. I worked about an hour today and will try to do more tomorrow, we might be here for a while.

Please post the link when you can Yes! Please post both links, if you're comfortable. You all are still in my prayers. Answers about cause bring some comfort but it sounds like there is still a long way to go. I'm so, so sorry.
