My new position will be significantly done from home. I don't love working from home, but part of that is because I don't have a good space to work in.
Did any of you set up home offices during the pandemic? I am thinking I will set up in Maeve's old room, or possibly steal Doug's upstairs office, since he has set up a very nice home office in the basement. This will mean a big clean-up project, since I don't think he's even opened his file cabinets in some time, and his desk up there is a disaster area (he still receives his bills in paper form).

I started working from home several years before COVID and it is an adjustment. Took me 6 months to feel like I was acclimated and from then on I loved it. I think your own space is crucial in terms of maintaining focus during the work day and being able to walk away when your day is over. I don't recommend any big room makeovers until you figure out how you want things set up. I moved furniture and equipment around a lot the first few months. Will your employer provide you with anything beyond a laptop? I cannot work all day from a laptop so I got a dock and 2 big monitors.(Provided by my employer) I hate headsets. They give me a headache, so I use a Jabra speaker. I do have a wireless headset for days when its noisy around here.

Thanks for the input!
I spoke to the folks at my old/new place today and they said I could do a dock and two monitors, which would be my preference. I have a host of headsets and microphones from doing voiceovers for training videos. The only real makeover of either of the spaces I'm considering would be cleaning up!
