As a childless taxpayer...
I really REALLY want children to be spoiled by regular meals. I even want them to feel entitled to regularly being fed. I am actively hopeful that the USDA will continue this program ad infinitum. Waukesha [enclave of upper class white people] is actually spending money to punish their students. Accepting the USDA program would have meant increased funding per meal, no collection costs, no costs associated with managing the applications for the free and reduced lunch program, far fewer administrative costs overall. But they hate poor and brown people so much they would rather lose money they don't have to lose, instead of making sure that every child has a full meals every day.
Eat the rich.

DS20yo saw the article in our local paper, texted it to me, and said, "Yet another reason NOT to live in Waukesha." You really could not pay me enough to ever move there for a host of reasons.

.
YES. The children I am worried about being "spoiled" are not the ones who rely on school food for their meals. It is the children who have everything handed to them and all their problems solved for them by their entitled parents.
