I don't usually have a reading goal, but I've ready 2 books in January:
The Big Door Prize by M.O. Walsh - I really liked this one You Never Know by Connie Briscoe - did not like this one overall - it was interesting to have a protagonist with a disability, but the whole way the story was told took out any suspense.

I’m currently reading Iron Curtain by Anne Applebaum. It’s about the Communist takeover of Eastern Europe between 1994 and 1956. Next up is the Russo-Ukrainian War, by Serhii Plokhy - he wrote the book upon which the HBO series Chernobyl is based.

Read John Scalzi's Agent to the Stars - loved it, very funny, ready the whole thing in a couple of hours.
I also read Dann McDorman's West Heart Kill - it was pretty interesting, with elements of a play, and also an unidentified narrator who keeps the reader on edge, seeing different pieces of the puzzle but not the whole thing.

Read Hello, Molly (Molly Shannon's autobiography) in one sitting the other evening. Started reading John Scalzi's Head On after I finished Molly's book, read 5 chapters (shortish chapters) before heading to bed. At a rate of 2 a week, I will blow through my reading goal of 26 books this year.

I never followed John Scalzi on Txitter, but I’m following him now on Bluesky. I should read one of his books some day 😄

Actually, it won the Booker Prize! I just finished it, and it was terrifying.

Colum McCann is just a brilliant writer. I've cried at every book of his I've read so far.
Started Say Nothing: A Tale of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland by Patrick Radden Keefe
Picked up another Scalzi at the library plus a chick flick type of book.

I’m reading The Three-Body Problem bu Cixin Liu. I’ve wanted to read it for a while now, and Netflix just released an adaptation a few weeks ago, so now’s the time.
I finished Our Own Worst Enemy by Tom Nichols yesterday.

It was good; some of the physics aspects were a little esoteric for me so I’m glad I watched the series first 😄 I liked it well enough, but not enough to read the next two books in the series.
