The Deficit Myth - for my MPA cohort book club. It's actually a very easy read about the myths we all have been taught about the deficit, why having a deficit is sometimes a good choice, and the hazards to avoid.

Finished Circe for one book club. Next up for my book clubs are The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley & The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Speare. I still need to read one more classic before the end of the year to meet my goal, so I guess I better figure that out quickly.

Got the Mary Trump book in from the library a couple of days ago, so have just barely started that. Requested The Orchid and the Dandelion: Why Some Children Struggle and How All Can Thrive last week and it looks like it has shipped, so I will start that once it arrives - not sure if it will be helpful to me, with adult children at this point, but wherever it was that I saw it recommended, it was highly recommended regardless of the age of your kids. Requested The Wonder Boy of Whistle Stop and Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other this afternoon, but am the bottom of the request list for both, so I imagine I'm in for a good long wait, lol.

I ordered two biographies, The Book of Drugs by Mike Doughty and I Want to Be Where the Normal People Are by Rachel Bloom.

I read The End of October yesterday, about a novel coronavirus pandemic. Not the most well written book but it made our current situation look better by comparison!

I'm reading Sally Field's book "In Pieces". It's quite interesting. I'm also reading Stephen King's, "If It Bleeds". I rather like those longer short stories he does.

Just finished Tess Gerritsen's Body Double. Very good, but not recommended if pregnant women in danger upsets you.

Finished The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley for one book group, need to read The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Speare by Wednesday for my other book group. Then I’m going to binge on Christmas romance fluff. I doubt I’ll be able to cram enough in to meet my goals/challenge for the year, but oh, well.

I'm re-reading Orange is the New Black because we're watching the show and I want to see how accurate it is. I'm also reading Stephen Kings If It Bleeds

I started Outlander yesterday. Never read it! I did see some of the first season of the show, which bounded through the plot much more quickly, I think I like the pace of the book better.

I’d like to read John le Carré, seeing as he just passed away. I’ve heard that “The Spy Who Came In from the Cold” is one of the best spy novels ever written.

I’m almost done with The Book of Longings and have really enjoyed it. It reminds me a bit of The Red Tent.

I read the books way before the show and one of the things that bugged me the most was how fast the show was moving. Just got 2 new Stephen King books for Christmas and I am very excited to start them. I have been reading The Stranger by Albert Camus. My oldest read it for one of his classes and wanted me to read it too but I am taking forever to get through this thin book. LOL
