“Things fall apart, the centre cannot hold”
I ask this sincerely: is the United States broken beyond repair?

Yes, I honestly think it is.

If things remain as they are for much longer, I'm not sure how long it will take to dig us out of this disaster.

I think so. The government is so corrupt and the people are too divided.

It is. We are so divided. We can grow from this brokenness but it's going to be a hell of a lot of work. I'm not sure we're up to it.

I think we have reached a point where no human effort can correct our problems. The only hope is for people to repent of their sins and turn to God for help. He can do what is impossible for humans.

I think people believing their God is the only path is part of our divide, but I digress.
No, I don't think we are beyond repair. I think the number of good people far outweigh the bad.

Protestors in Minneapolis are saying that the guy who walked up and started smashing the windows of the Autozone store was a police officer from St. Paul. I know, you can’t trust rumours until/unless they’re verified, but the state governor and the mayor have also said that they believe that outside agitators are coming into the state and inciting violence.

I haven’t heard any mention on CNN of the lack of social distancing during the protests. Is that not a thing we’re worried about any more?

Yes. There is a lot of shady shit going on. I have even read that bricks have been planted (conveniently). America is burning. It's devastating. I truly hope there is a turn for the better soon.

Has the president mentioned the protests (other than the infamous "when the looting starts, the shooting starts" comment? I was wondering if he'd made any type of inspirational speech or press conference. And NO, I'm not trying to be funny.

It was wonderful.
