I’m not on twitter at all. You should thank your lucky stars you are not on twitter right you. It will make you want to curl into a ball and cry like a baby. The darkness in my mind right now is like a cold snake squeezing out my soul.

It’s not twitter itself.

I’d probably lose my mind if I were on Twitter.

I went to a protest yesterday in Hartford, everyone wore masks and they had different microphones for each speaker.
There was another one today that was peaceful and I heard positive things about the Hartford Police Department. I know quite a few cops and they are all decent people - although there are always iffy ones, too.
RE: Twitter - when I started on Twitter, it was great, I followed comedians and writers and personal friends; ever since 2016, it's been all politics from every quarter and it can be stressful - I spent the morning doing chores today and the afternoon reading (and drinking), and it has been quite lovely. I was talking to Siobhan and Maeve and we all took a break from the internet today.

Yes. It's not Twitter that's the problem. It just is a bigger resource for showing what's going on (live) all over the Country. Facebook sucks for that. Zuckerberg censors a lot.

Nope. That will absolutely not accomplish anything.
The police in Minneapolis need to stop escalating the situation. I have seen videos of officers firing the rubber bullets, of an officer arresting a CNN reporter and his crew who were all POC, and meanwhile a white reporter down the street was left alone, and an officer spraying either tear gas or pepper spray from the window of his police car as he drove through a crowd. They are not helping themselves at all in this situation.
My husband and his fellow officers have made it a priority in recent years to come read at our elementary schools, come play with kids at recess, organize events like a free pancake breakfast in the fall, they do a HUGE trick or treat event at Halloween, and also do a "safety town" field trip for all of our pre-k to 2nd grade students, where they come and learn about emergency vehicles and first responders, including police cars, the helicopter when it is available, an ambulance and a fire truck, and an ice cream party in the spring. They truly try to be visible in the community and to show themselves as helpers.
Not every interaction between a white officer and a black "suspect" is a racist event, but far too many are, or can be perceived that way. This event in MN should NEVER have happened, those officers are clearly in the wrong, and a murder charge is the right charge. I hope they get the sentence they deserve.

If there is a playbook on how to incite further rebellion, the Minneapolis PD is following it. They need to stop and just let it play out. If humans are in danger, intervene. That’s it.

Yes. Sometimes it is necessary to take the lives of those who are threatening the lives of others. Romans 13:3-5 says, "For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience."

The police seem to be the ones who are escalating peaceful protest into riots.
Puddleglum, I think you've made it very clear that you are full of excrement. Your supposed belief is twisted to support your political leanings. I'm so sorry to know that based on your own belief, you're going to burn in hell.
