I finished Nomadland last night. Next up is Midnight in Chernobyl - fitting, as today is the 35th, I think, anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.

Since I was home sick yesterday, I read the first third of The Woman in the Window. I'm enjoying it so far.

Finished The Woman in the Window, which will be a movie soon.
Read Framed by S.E. MacInnes, pretty good but not great.

I finished Shuggie Bain, by Douglas Stuart, today after having it on hold at the library since last fall! It won the Booker Prize last year. It’s about a young boy growing up in Glasgow public housing in the 1980s with an alcoholic mother. Not a cheerful story by any means.
Now about to start Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro.

Read Hello, Sunshine by Laura Dave. It was okay - a quick read at 242 pages.

Read The Back Road by Rachel Abbott, it was a little soap opera-ish and also I kept thinking if any of these people actually talked to each other they wouldn't have problems anymore, but there was a mystery that was fairly intriguing.

I'm reading Wag: the science of making your dog happy by Zazie Todd. It's excellent. She's a well known behaviour scientist, and very good at making science accessible. I'm definitely going to add it to the list of books I recommend to my clients.
I'm also just starting Prairie Fire: the American dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder. I loved Little House on the Prairie books as a kid, so I thought this might be interesting.

I'll have to check that book out, Nansel.
I started The City We Became by N.K. Nemisin, and I don't even know how to explain it, but I'm digging it.

I’ve been in a major reading slump since May, but I’ve recently finished Livewired, which was intriguing, & The Boys in the Boat, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I’m hopeful my slump is over.

I'm also just starting Prairie Fire: the American dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder. I loved Little House on the Prairie books as a kid, so I thought this might be interesting. I have this! I started reading it last year, but then I got distracted by Stephanie Plum. LOL I'll have to pick it up again.

I started and finished two books this weekend:
Kill All Your Darlings by David Bell - a page turner, but I figured it out before the book revealed the baddie
and Educated by Tara Westover, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I just read The Ballad Of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins. It's a prequel to The Hunger Games and OMG it was excellent! I saw my grandson reading it, and he recommended it. I really loved The Hunger Games books anyway, there is just something about them, and yet I'm not big into fantasy books.
