Should I try Crossfit or a Bootcamp starting out? I'm very unfit, but they've always intrigued me.
We are going to try the local Gold's to see if we like it.
There are a couple of Crossfit places around too.

I tried a spin class when I was so out of shape and it was not a good experience. It just frustrated me to not want to go again.

Made myself go back and started to love it. Now I'm obsessed with my Peloton (400+ classes in). I think everyone hates their first spin class!

I miss CrossFit. There was too much drama at my old CF place (people having affairs, rumormongering, etc) plus too much staff turnover so I left. I haven’t found any gym or routine I like as much as CrossFit. There is an Olympic weightlifting gym/CF box near my new house so I want to get back to it once we move.

If the staff is good, anyone can do it. They will modify for your ability.

I don't know if it is my dramatically increased veggie intake (and reduced card intake due to DH's keto stuff, which I'm really only doing for dinner), or if this is one of the many PMS changes I've having thanks to peri-menopause making my periods totally different experiences, but I am bloated, gassy, and my gut feels way off.
As a result, I've had tea with milk and a lemon square, and that's it. No appetite at all.

I'm down 9 pounds, although I ate very little yesterday due to my weird gut feelings. They are much improved today, but still off. Anyway, I'm not sure that 9 pounds will stat at 9 pounds, but it was a nice number to see!

I'm still holding steady at 116. I have my gallbladder surgery next wednesday, so there may be another pound or so drop but I doubt it will stick. This is where I seem to be steady at, and that is fine with me. I'm still watching how much I put on my plate, trying to get some exercise every day, cut down on snacking.

Dropped 3 pounds this week. Went back to the 16:8 eating because it helps me recognize actual hunger vs habitual hunger. Plus the Advantages Response Card I created from the Beck Diet book motivates me.

I hit 151. It will probably take another month or 2 to get into the 140’s. I measured my wrist and for my height I have a medium frame. A healthy weight for me is between 114 (I can’t even imagine) and 145. I think I’ll try for the mid 130’s.

There are a couple of Crossfit places around too. If you're very unfit, I'd suggest trying some group aerobic or weight classes that can get you more fit, then move on to a boot camp. Then try CrossFit. CrossFit was too focused on Olympic Lifting for my tastes. I know others here enjoy that sort of thing. Regardless of what you do, try different things, find a couple things you enjoy and stick with them. If you find yourself making excuses not to go, you don't really like it. For me, it's Zumba and doing weight training with a trainer once a week who also gives me workouts to do on my own.

Just resubscribed to Beach Body on Demand. Since we still don't have half our furniture, I've got a mostly empty dining room that is a perfect workout space! I did half a video and felt myself getting sloppy, so I stopped for a break and I'll do the other half in a bit. I figured I'd get more out of it if I wasn't flailing around and gasping for breath. lol

Down 3 lbs. Following the Beck plan and eating just normal stuff. Paying attention to what I'm eating, keeping my goals in mind and convincing myself I can wait until the next meal has really been helping. My dinners have been really small and I have cut out all the snacking while I cook

I read about 1/3 of "French Women Don't Get Fat" in December. Some of it, like the leek soup love, didn't resonate with me, but the overall concept of just being thoughtful about what you eat, as you eat it, did. Of course, that mindset lasted a few weeks (poor DH had to listen to me say, "I'm a french lady!" practically every meal during our Vietnam and Cambodia trip) and then I reverted back to old habits, but I'm trying to remind myself of that logic more often. Basically, it's just about being thoughtful, fully experiencing and enjoying the foods you do it, and getting satisfaction from that. It reminds me a lot of how I perceive my mom east. She's tiny, and yet I've never known her to be on a diet. She has a bite of chocolate after nearly ever meal, but only a bite or two. She eats whatever she wants (though often what she wants is healthy and or low cal/fat) but not very much of it, and I think part of that is that she actually savors what she's getting.

I probably can consume 500+ calories a day eating while cooking, passing by the pantry....
