We watched It Started As A Joke, a documentary about the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, it was hilarious but also sad - the last year of the festival occurred when his wife was dying of cancer.

I've gone down a weird rabbit hole of Last Change U about junior college football and players hoping to still make it to university teams (and then the NFL, in theory). And QB1 about the top high school football quarter backs. Its made me sad to see another example of the inequities in our system, and also kind of angry how fucked up the US is toward athletes, starting in high school (or even before that). But there are also some very sympathetic figures and people to root for.

We didn't want any TV last night. It was peaceful, he was reading in his recliner, I was reading on the couch...
But we will probably blow through the rest of The Umbrella Academy this weekend.

Dead To Me - with Christina Applegate and Linda Cardinelli is fantastic. On netflix. We just started Safe. A British show starring Michael C Hall (with a very good British accent!)

Safe was good. Michael C Hall's accent was only occasionally distracting.
I needed an uplifting experience, so I'm just about done rewatching Schitt's Creek. For the third time since January. How I never caught on to how good it is until this year I'll never know. Back when it started I know I was put off by the name, because I erroneously thought that the show would be crude and clunky.
Dh and I are in the last couple of episodes of the Good Place. It is also very amusing in a different way.

We were the same way about Schitts Creek - we watched one or two episodes very early on and just found it lacking in something. Then early last year we started it again and it just clicked with us and we loved it! Now we're (im)patiently waiting for Netflix to air the last season. We haven't seen it yet. I should bite the bullet and figure out how to watch it on Kodi.

Oh, and Nansel, if you want a really funny show, there is one we watch on the Amazon Fire Stick if you can access it. From Britain, it's called Ghosts and is very funny. In a nutshell, a nice young couple on the brink of financial disaster inherit a very old haunted mansion. The ghosts are from all different time periods. A neanderthal, a victorian woman, a boy scout leader from the 70's, and more. There's only 1 season so far but they've got to make more, it's just so well done.

I’ve been watching Kim’s Convenience, which is also on Netflix (first three seasons) and CBC Gem (all seasons). It is funny and sweet, and it’s got some great scenes of downtown Toronto. I recommend it.

I am embarrassed to say I don't know what CBC Gem is or how to get it. It’s the CBC app. You can download it to whatever you watch Netflix on. There are old CBC shows, lots of movies, and even live streams of local CBC programming like the news. We don’t have cable anymore, so we love it.

We'll look into that, thanks. I'd love to finish the show. We actually PVR'd the last episode and special but of course, can't watch it yet.

We've been watching the last season of Schitts Creek on CBC Gem. DH is ticked that he has to watch commercials (OH THE HUMANITY!!!!) and it always starts at the first show of the season, so you have to hunt for the next one you are watching. But at least we're watching it!
We really enjoyed Safe with Michael C Hall, and LOVED Dead To Me, but they are both all caught up now and we have to seek out new shows.
