It was a good book. You know, I’m not sure. This is about a young mom who left an abusive relationship and the constant struggles she faces from friends, family and the government while trying to build a better life for her and her daughter. It was really eye-opening on why it’s so hard to leave bad relationships.

Before all our shows started their new season, we started watching Manifest. We’re now into season 2. Kinda weird, but we’re still watching, so…
A couple of weeks ago, we watched CODA on Apple+ & really liked it. Found out that the main character, Ruby, was played by the actor who was the oldest daughter in What We Did On Our Holiday (which I love). It’s fun to see child actors grow & develop in their roles.
Eagerly awaiting the US dates for All Creatures Great and Small season 2 & Shetland season 6.

And I think DH watches Shetland.

All Creatures G&S starts in early January - the 9th, I think.
I just started watching Squid Game on Netflix. Very dystopian, not for the faint of heart (or stomach) so far!

I just realized yesterday that one of the Houston NASA employees is the now-grown kid from Real Genius. I love those “a-ha!” moments!

Just finished MAID, it was so good. It’s about a single mother who is living in a dv shelter and working as a house cleaner
In the past my book club has adopted families at a domestic violence shelter for Xmas. I just emailed the other members to see if we could read the book and gift the dv shelter for Xmas this year. Our members thought it was a great idea.
I went to the county dv website and saw I can send needed items now thru Amazon. So I sent some shampoo/conditioner and pullups they’d requested. I think I’m going to try to do that every month

We started watching a British show called No Offence about a group of detectives in Manchester. It's pretty good, the top cast are all women. Occasional humor, but also violence and tension.

I watched the first episode of Maid. It was filmed on Vancouver Island, so I admit I spent a lot of time going "I know where that is". And the most tense moment for me was when she was maybe going to be late for the ferry. I've been there many times. I'm not in the right head space for a show with that tone, but it was well done so I'll come back to it later.
I'm mid way through 30 Rock (never saw it when it was new), and dh and I are re-watching the X-Files. I've also been clicking on random documentaries. "LuLaRich" was interesting and well done.

We've been watching Ghosts on Amazon Prime - the BBC version - the story is this woman has inherited this huge manor house, and she and her husband want to fix it up to turn it into an event space, but it's swarming with ghosts, and when she has a head injury, she can see them. Very funny, a combination of slapstick goofiness and character based humor.
