Salons are closed here, and I need a haircut. I can cut the kid's, and DH has his electric clippers, but I can't cut my own hair and I sure as shit ain't letting DH near me with scissors. I joked that all our male lawyers at work are going to be sporting man buns before this thing is over. Which is a visual that makes me laugh, a lot. How's everyone else doing in this area? Pony tails? DIY? Growing it out? Someone told me dye kits are getting hard to find now too, I guess I should look for that next time I'm out. I might have to resort to silver, or purple or something funky.

I already have long hair so that’s no biggie, but I have gray streaks that echo Cruella DeVille.

I can't do hair much longer than it is now (which is a bit longer than what my cartoon avatar has) because it breaks. I'll have to put it up to take the weight off soon, I think.

My gray roots think this is their time to shine! 🤦🏼♀️ I may resort to try coloring my own hair or wearing my “Bad Hair Day” ball cap more often!
In an effort to save some money the last time I got my hair colored, I skipped out on the cut. I’m really regretting that decision now as my hair is almost down to my bra strap now. I’ve already trimmed my bangs twice since this started (my hair grows really fast), but I’m too chicken to take a whack at the rest.
My hair is naturally curly, but I’ve been curling it with a wand lately for beachy waves. Other times, I’ll use a curling rod to tame and enhance my own curls. Sometimes I wear it up in a clip, but that’s usually on the last day that I feel I can go without washing it. 😂 I don’t normally wear ponytails unless it’s with a hat. As much as my hair annoys me, I’m glad I can wear it in a number of different ways.

I’ve been letting my hair grow since about October, & switched from using a curling iron to a flat iron, so I had some time to get used to the different style before all this. It’s long enough that I can wear a headband to pull it back. Plus, I had a hair appointment about 4 days before the closedown here. My next appointment was supposed to be next week. My roots are definitely showing, but it’s not like I’m being seen by a ton of people.
DH is complaining daily about how long his hair is getting. I don’t do hair, so he’s just going to have to deal with it.

I had an appt scheduled for 4/10. That appointment was really pushing my limits and my hair is driving me nuts. I usually have very short hair. Now it is in my eyes. I bought color when I got the hint that salons would be closed. (I've never colored my own hair in my life.) Luckily for DH we just buzz his with a #2 blade so he is easy.

It's been nearly 12 months since I had a haircut, which I didn't realize until all this came up. Opps! I'm sure it would look much better with a trim, but clearly I'm going to be okay.
DH on the other hand... he was forward-thinking enough to snag a cut at the Pentagon just because those services shut down, so he's okay for now. And the military has relaxed grooming standards, but only so much. Even with that, I know he's still going to struggle with looking scraggly, even if he's within the temp regs.
I don't want to spend a lot of money on clippers because I am fairly certain he will never let me cut his hair after this is resolved. So I ordered a $29 set on Amazon.
Oh, and I, who does not dye my hair at all, am currently sporting week-old teal semi-permanent hair color. I think I look like a super hero, so this may not be the last weird color. DH has been very polite about it, but I can tell he doesn't love it. I think I will try purple when this washes out!

I already have long hair so that’s no biggie, but I have gray streaks that echo Cruella DeVille. I was wondering if my teal would color the grays since I know gray can be color resistant. It did. I used manic panic. I think it actually is a really cool effect because there are glints of brighter teal among the darker bits, since my hair is dark brown. I told a friend that it would be even cooler if I had streaks instead of just random individual grays (though plenty of those!) so if you are open to odd colors, it could be great!

I started growing my hair out in late 2013 or early 2014 for my daughter’s wedding in 2015. I used to have it in a pixie cut. It’s now to my bra strap. I trim my bangs myself & have had just a couple of trims for split ends since I started growing it out. I’ll be Ok. I think adH had his cut before this started. He usualets it grow fairly long before he gets it cut so he’s Ok.

I cut my own. I’m sure it’s a hack job but my hair is curly so it’s a bit more forgiving (I don’t necessarily need straight lines). It looks fine for now. I don’t dye my hair but I have had highlights, which I was already growing out anyway. I gave my dog a trim yesterday. It was like shearing a sheep.

Hair clippers have been a hot item on Amazon but I managed to get a pair from Target online. My wife didn’t feel comfortable helping me so I watched some YouTube videos and did my own. My haircut consists of putting a #2 guard on and running it over my scalp lol. It’s a good thing I don’t have much hair anyways....
I will do my son’s hair tomorrow

Dh had to leave the office yesterday to deliver tires. Since he was near the post, he stopped at the barber inside the PX. Thank goodness! I really, REALLY didn’t want him to cut his own hair. 😂

I trimmed my own bangs. I should be OK for awhile. I cut DS's hair. My DH hasn't let me yet. He chickened out at the last minute the day I cut my son's hair.
I had my DD buy some dye from Sally's when stuff started shutting down. I colored it once so far. I miss my highlights.

My hair is long, wavy, and grey. Maintenance is pretty simple. I wear a lot of ponytails in the best of times.

I will do my son’s hair tomorrow Yup, I always cut my son Richard’s hair with clippers too, although he doesn’t like the noise and the vibration. I’ve had long hair for years and always wear it in a ponytail or braid. No gray streaks here - I do have a few gray hairs here and there, but nothing worth colouring. I take my younger son Daniel for a haircut every three months, and I told him a few days ago that I might have to use the clippers on his hair if the hairdressers are still closed in a few weeks!

I had a bad, too short haircut in February, and it’s growing out now. I wanted it short, because I decided to stop colouring my greys, but didn’t like how the hairdresser did it. It’s better now, but still has weird layers so I can’t ponytail it. Argh. I’ve been using a semi permanent dye on my roots as they grow out, and I’ve kept up with that. So all in all, not too terrible a hair situation. Before I got this cut I only went one a year or so anyway, whenever my ponytail got too heavy. I’ve been doing dh’s head with unguarded clippers for years, so no worries there.

Work requires natural hair colors, sadly.

My hair is a dark blonde. (Right now it’s almost brunette). I have never coloured my hair. I have the occasional grey but they blend in & aren’t noticeable. It lightens up in the summer if I’m outside a lot & has a lot of natural highlights.
I wear it loose most of the time at home. I have to wear it back at work so there it’s usually a pony tail.

There's a rumor that one of them--but not the one in the Exchange--on Quantico is opened, but all the others are shut. THat's why they came out with the regulation loosening the standards. They can't require haircuts if there is no one to give them!
