I like you so much, think you are super smart and do such good work (think of all those dentists you have trained).
During a previously bad time in my life I was in a really dark place, drinking water glasses full of vodka and crying while laying on the floor. I’m a little worried your are in the same place right now. I wish you could come and heal here at my farm.

I know this is a cliche, but I try to handle one day at a time. I am not thinking about next week or the week after.
I actually feel fortunate that I only know 2 people who have died from this virus. How sad is that? I keep thinking it could be worse.
I'm also strangely grateful my dad died on the 5th of dementia and didn't die of COVID. If his nursing home gets it, they won't let anyone in, even if a patient is dying.
FWIW, my husband went to our hunting property for turkey season. He brought his own food and won't be seeing anyone. I see nothing wrong with that at all.
I understand not wanting to burden local communities with sick people, but I see no issue with going to a hunting cabin or lake cabin, bringing your own food and getting away as long as you are not interacting with other people. I would hope anyone who is away and starts getting sick would immediately return to their main home. I personally wouldn't want to be in a small town with any serious problem. I've too much experience with isolated rural hospitals with my family.

GoF, you are a truly wonderful human and I am so sorry you’re struggling. You don’t deserve to have your business hit and you certainly don’t deserve to be harassed for taking care of a patient.
You very well may have saved his life and I thank you for that. The world needs you.
Just like people need professional help to get through a dental crisis, you need professional help to get through this crisis.
Please call your therapist.

We’d get the food for them (in our barn apartment) and they wouldn’t have to go to town. But they couldn’t drive here without stopping, so decided against it.

Our property is only 2 hours away. People still need to get gas. There's not any interaction there if you pay at the pump. The bathroom thing is an issue, but if my mental health were suffering that badly, I'd honestly bring a bucket and toilet seat, and figure it out. Growing up and when I was in France, we pulled off on the shoulder and went into the trees/bushes on the side of the road if we were traveling to rural areas.

They have two little girls (3.5 and 22 mos). They have to stop to pee about every hour lol. And they are 6 hours away driving straight through. Too much risk for everyone. If it was 2 hours that would be a no brainer. To me.

DH & I are planning to go to our farm next weekend & staying for up to a week. We’ll take our own supplies & wont interact with anyone while we’re there. We’ll come back right away if we start getting sick.
We’ll have to get gas on our way back but we’ll pay at the pump.

If the kids are in their jammies and asleep, they are pretty likely to make it 6 hours without needing to go to the bathroom.

My sil sent me a video of my niece blowing on a dandelion blossom wishing she could come to the farm. Adorable
