I've been watching Sweet Magnolias on Netflix which is essentially like Hallmark TV. DH and I started Space Force on Netflix last night and I was meh.

DH decided to give Home Before Dark on Apple+ a try, & I think we’re hooked now.

Murdoch is a good combination of Canadian and British actors that pop up in a whole bunch of different shows 😄 - I recently saw the actor who played the footman on Downton Abbey who was injured in the war, and Daisy married him on the day he died.

I haven’t really watched Murdoch, but it’s usually on when I go to my parents’ & my mom talks about it a lot. Colin Mochrie was in the episode that was on the last time I was there. Last week, I was rewatching some Republic of Doyle, & on one episode I thought, “Wait, isn’t that George?” 😄

Well, I finally watched Battlestar Galactica in its entirety. I had seen most of it when it first aired, but I missed some episodes due to having a new baby. Still one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

We started watching Murdoch Mysteries, and it's all like "this is cozy English mystery with adorable old people,", and then there was incest! It was a tonal shift I did not expect! Yeah, it's that part of this show that I have to sort of turn off my brain for. There's a distinctly modern take on issues sometimes. Starting with a female coroner. They get more period sometimes with people's attitudes, then throw in some dialogue that I think may never have happened in that era.
I'm still enjoying it, though, for the fluff, and the guest stars. Mary Walsh was a treat, as usual, in a recent episode I saw.

Still one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I loved the original series (and had a serious crush on Dirk Benedict), so I've been not watching the new one. Maybe I should give it a go...
ETA: apparently it's not streaming anywhere in Canada right now. Oh well.

It’s on an over-the-air (antenna) channel called Comet, that we get from Buffalo. We have a decent-sized antenna on our roof so we get several channels from Western NY. I don’t know if Comet is available on any satellite or cable packages in Canada.
Richard Hatch had a fairly large guest-starring role in the new BSG, but not as Apollo of course 😄 But no, you should give it a try if you get a chance. My husband loved the old BSG; I always thought it was ridiculously campy, but the new one is so, so good. Edward James Olmos played Adama, and he was perfect.

We dropped cable when dh got laid off in March. We only had it for live sports. So we're all about the streaming. I have looked at over the air, but it's not a great option here. Given that we're literally in the middle of not much, that makes sense

Half the people in my cohort have been watching The Last Kingdom, so I tried it out last night, and even though it has the lovely baritone timbre of Matthew McFadyen's speaking voice, it's not for me. At least not right now.
Doug and I started on Avatar: The Last Airbender. Yes, it's a cartoon, but it is excellent.

Watched 13 on Netflix, about the 13th amendment and how that led to the criminalization of blackness, essentially. I think they did a remarkable job of making the concepts clear and digestable. Highly recommend. (They do show some photos of lynchings/hangings and some of the police (and other) brutality/murder videos from recent history so be prepared for that, but generally it was not more graphic than necessary.)

We finished season 1 of Absentia from Amazon last night, & the first couple of episodes of season 2. After having a dream about a serial killer last night 😳, I told dh I’m not watching anymore. I finished season 1 because I wanted to know how it ended, but overall, it’s just too dark for me.

Binged Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist this weekend, and LOVED it. I sobbed all through the last episode.

I didn't like the first couple of episodes of Space Force but it got significantly better, IMO. Back in March, one of my cohort fellows and I had a long conversation with General Susan Helms (astronaut who was on the ISS for 9 months) about Space Force, and I feel like her perspective (there's a lot of damage bad actors can do from Space, so having some military presence is a good idea, there just have to be a lot of agreements with other nations about how things will be managed and what constitutes a threat) is pretty well represented by the character Steve Carell plays.

We watched a very funny BBC1 show called Ghosts - first 2 episodes. Definitely sticking with it.

The Good Place is so good! We watched all episodes of Shameless on Netflix, hoping they put the newest season on soon. Started watching Mad Men and were about 8 episodes in and now it's not on Netflix, so that's a bummer. We watched Space Force, kind of meh. Watched the first season of Barry on HBO and it's okay. DS23 keeps telling us to watch Westworld so that's probably next.
I have been doing my ow little Marvel marathon (watching all the movies in order of release date) while I'm sewing for my Etsy shop and I'm up to Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

We started season 4 of Community and man the change in tone is just so weird. I read the show runner was changed but it seems even the camera work is different. Will keep watching it though.
